Sydney Estey-Dedell, SPIRAL’S Marketing and Project Coordinator, recently attended the ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo in Boston. Sydney shares her experience:
I was glad to be able to attend the 2022 ACTFL Conference in Boston this November! It was great to meet so many other language teachers and educators who are working to bring quality language and culture instruction to their students. Over the three days of the conference, I attended many inspiring sessions about teaching and building language programs. Some of the highlights for me were listening to educators talk about their successful experiences with virtual exchange, and how they have met the challenges of distance education. There were some fascinating discussions about including culture into the language classroom, whether in-person or online, and I got some great ideas for ways to enhance cultural exploration in our classes and enrichment activities! I’m already looking forward to next year!
