Learning Across Borders: Professional Development Trip to Singapore & Malaysia

SPIRAL International is pleased to announce an upcoming 11-day Professional Development Trip for educators to Singapore and Malaysia! In April 2025, join us on an academic adventure specifically designed for educators looking to grow professionally and experience cultural exchange.

Singapore and Malaysia epitomize societies that have embraced multi-culturalism, successfully integrating their three main ethnic groups into communities that celebrate inclusivity and diversity. Cultures, religions, and languages thrive alongside one another in Singaporean and Malaysian educational systems providing American educators with an opportunity to observe and learn from educators whose approach to instruction and classroom demographics differ greatly from their own. This professional development trip will offer educators a chance to observe classrooms, teach a demo course, spend time shadowing teachers and share educational experiences and practices with Singaporean and Malaysian educators.

In addition to academics, educators will sight-see, visit museums and cultural centers, and tour many of the beautiful natural spaces that both countries are home to. Participants will begin their journey in Singapore before traveling through Johor Bahru, Melaka and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This professional development trip will be led by a staff member of SPIRAL International and by Ms. Jacqueline Parks, Principal of Williston Central School, Vermont, USA.
